Nhost

Postgres BaaS with GraphQL via Hasura

Free tier + paidDatabases & backendnhost.io

What it is

An open-source backend pairing Postgres with an auto-generated Hasura GraphQL API, plus authentication, file storage and serverless functions. The free Starter plan allows one project with a 1GB database, 1GB storage and unlimited users. Pro starts at $25 monthly including $15 of compute credit.

Why it earns a slot

If you want GraphQL rather than REST or a client SDK, Nhost gives you a typed schema-driven API for free, and models write GraphQL queries well. Unlimited users on a free plan is unusual.

Know before you commit

Free projects are paused after 1 week of inactivity and you only get one active project. A much smaller community than Supabase means fewer training examples for AI agents to draw on.
