Account settings

The short version

Account settings let you manage your personal profile, how Lovable works for you, and your login security. These settings are for you as an individual, not for your team's projects.

Anyone using Lovable needs to access these settings to personalize their experience or manage their account details.

Do this, in order

  1. 1

Open Account settings by clicking your profile picture at the bottom-left of the sidebar and choosing 'Account settings'.

This is the main way to access all your personal settings.

  2. 2

Explore the five main sections: Account, Preferences, Security, Devices & apps, and This device (if using the desktop app).

Each section controls different aspects of your personal Lovable experience, from your public profile to how the app behaves for you.

  3. 3

If you want to show off your skills, build a project that fits one of the 12 skill categories and get at least 20 visits to its live app.

This unlocks a 'Showcase skill' on your profile, which you can then add to LinkedIn to highlight your expertise.

  4. 4

Adjust your 'Preferences' to change things like your language, whether Lovable suggests what to build next, or if it makes a sound when it finishes generating something.

This customizes Lovable to work exactly how you prefer.

  5. 5

Set up 'Two-factor authentication' under 'Security' using an authenticator app or your phone.

This adds an extra layer of protection to your account, making it much harder for unauthorized people to log in.

  6. 6

If you ever lose a device or suspect someone else is using your account, use 'Log out everywhere' under 'Security'.

This immediately ends all your Lovable sessions on every device, securing your account.

Paste this into your project

I want to manage my personal Lovable account. How do I access my settings to change my profile, set up security, or adjust how Lovable works for me?

Words decoded

Dialog
A small window that pops up on your screen, usually asking for information or showing options, without taking over the whole screen.
Avatar
A small picture or icon that represents you online, like a profile picture.
Command palette
A search bar that appears when you press a specific keyboard shortcut, allowing you to quickly find and use features or settings by typing.
Two-factor authentication (2FA)
An extra security step for logging in. After entering your password, you'll need to provide a second piece of information, like a code from your phone, to prove it's really you.
Authenticator app
A special app on your phone (like Google Authenticator) that generates temporary, unique codes needed for two-factor authentication.
SSO (Single Sign-On)
A way to log into many different applications or websites using just one set of login credentials, often provided by your company.
Workspace
A shared space in Lovable where you and your team collaborate on projects. Your personal account settings are separate from workspace settings.

Where people get stuck

  • Confusing personal 'Account settings' with 'Workspace settings' (which are for teams and projects, not your individual preferences).
  • Forgetting to set up Two-factor authentication, leaving your account less secure.
  • Unlinking your last login method, which might lock you out of your account.
  • Not realizing that some settings, like profile visibility or AI model training, might be controlled by your workspace if you're in a Business or Enterprise plan.
