Connect your app to Zoho CRM

about 15 minBuildingchecked 48h agoOfficial page
The short version

You can connect your Lovable app to Zoho CRM to read, search, create, and update customer records like leads, contacts, and deals. This connection works for both building your app in chat and for your finished app.

Anyone building an app that needs to interact with Zoho CRM data, especially for sales dashboards, lead intake, or customer portals.

Do this, in order

  1. 1

Sign in to the Zoho API Console URL that matches where your Zoho CRM account is located (e.g., api-console.zoho.com for United States).

This is where you'll create a special application that allows Lovable to securely talk to your Zoho CRM account.

  2. 2

Click 'Add Client' or 'Get started', then choose 'Server-based Applications'.

You're setting up a specific type of connection that Lovable needs to communicate with Zoho CRM.

  3. 3

Fill in the application details: give it a Client Name (e.g., 'Lovable Integration'), enter your app or company website for Homepage URL, and add 'https://api.lovable.dev/workspaces/connectors/standard/oauth/callback' as an Authorized Redirect URI.

These details identify your Lovable connection to Zoho and tell Zoho where to send information back after you authorize the connection.

  4. 4

Save the application, then copy the generated Client ID and Client Secret.

These are like a username and password for Lovable to access your Zoho CRM, and you'll need them in the next step.

  5. 5

In Lovable, go to 'Connectors' and select 'Zoho CRM', then click 'Add connection'.

You're starting the process of linking your Zoho CRM account to your Lovable workspace.

  6. 6

Enter a Display name for your connection (e.g., 'Zoho CRM Prod'), select your Zoho Data center (e.g., Europe if your Zoho URL is crm.zoho.eu), and paste the Client ID and Client Secret you copied earlier.

This tells Lovable how to identify and securely connect to your specific Zoho CRM account.

  7. 7

Decide who can use this connection in your Lovable workspace; it's private to you by default, but you can share it with others or your entire workspace.

This controls which team members can use this Zoho CRM connection in their Lovable projects.

  8. 8

Click 'Connect', and if prompted, sign in to Zoho CRM, review the requested permissions, and click 'Accept' or 'Allow'.

This final step authorizes Lovable to access your Zoho CRM data according to the permissions you grant.

Paste this into your project

Connect my Lovable workspace to Zoho CRM. I have my Zoho CRM Client ID and Client Secret ready, and I've configured the Server-based Application in the Zoho API Console with the Authorized Redirect URI 'https://api.lovable.dev/workspaces/connectors/standard/oauth/callback'. My Zoho CRM data center is [YOUR_DATA_CENTER_HERE, e.g., United States].

Where people get stuck

  • Not having a Zoho CRM account or access to its API Console.
  • Using the wrong Zoho API Console URL for your Zoho CRM data center.
  • Forgetting to add the specific Lovable Redirect URI when creating the Zoho application.
  • Sharing your Client Secret publicly, as it's like a password.
  • Not having the Lovable workspace owner or admin role to set up the connection.
  • Blocking pop-ups in your browser, which might prevent the Zoho authorization window from appearing.
  • Expecting per-end-user Zoho CRM logins; each connection is for a single Zoho CRM account shared across projects.
  • Trying to get record lists from Zoho CRM without explicitly asking for specific fields, as Zoho CRM will reject these requests.
  • Relying on real-time updates from Zoho CRM, as this connector doesn't receive webhooks or change events.
  • Ignoring Zoho CRM API limits or plan restrictions, as Lovable doesn't bypass these.
