Connect your app to Lightspeed

   Go to 'Connectors' in your Lovable workspace and select 'Lightspeed'.

   This is where you manage all your connections to other services.

   Click 'Add connection'.

   You need to create a new connection to link Lovable with your Lightspeed store.

   Give your connection a name, like 'Lightspeed Prod'.

   This name helps you identify this specific Lightspeed connection within Lovable.

   Choose how you want to connect: 'Managed by Lovable' for the easiest setup, or 'Lightspeed' if you want to use your own Lightspeed OAuth app.

   This determines whether Lovable handles the technical setup for you or if you provide your own app details.

   If you chose 'Managed by Lovable', enter your store's domain prefix (e.g., 'my-store' from 'https://my-store.retail.lightspeed.app'). If you chose 'Lightspeed', enter your Client ID, Client Secret, and Domain Prefix from your Lightspeed OAuth app.

   This provides the necessary information for Lovable to identify and connect to your specific Lightspeed store.

   Review the 'Advanced settings' to see what permissions your app will request from Lightspeed, and adjust if needed.

   This ensures your app only accesses the data it needs from your Lightspeed store.

   Decide who in your Lovable workspace can use this Lightspeed connection.

   You can control access to your Lightspeed data, allowing only specific people or your whole team to use it.

   Click 'Connect' and then, in the Lightspeed window that opens, sign in if prompted, review the permissions, and click 'Allow'.

   This authorizes Lovable to access your Lightspeed store's data based on the permissions you selected.

Use Lightspeed and build an inventory dashboard that shows stock by outlet, low-stock products, and recent stock changes.

OAuth application

Domain prefix

The unique part of your Lightspeed store's web address, like 'my-store' in 'https://my-store.retail.lightspeed.app'.

Client ID and Client Secret

These are like a username and password for an 'OAuth application', used to identify and authenticate Lovable's access to your Lightspeed account when you manage your own connection.

Scopes

Specific permissions that you grant to an app, defining exactly what kind of data it can read or change in your Lightspeed account (e.g., 'read products' or 'read customers').

• Do not forget to allow pop-ups in your browser when connecting, as the Lightspeed authorization window opens separately.
• Be aware that all requests made through this connection count against your Lightspeed API limits, which are handled by Lightspeed, not Lovable.
• Remember that if your Lightspeed authorization is revoked, you will need to reconnect the integration in Lovable for your apps to work again.
