Show an announcement banner to your workspace

about 5 minBuildingchecked 2h agoOfficial page
The short version

You can post one message that every member of your workspace sees at the top of their Lovable dashboard and project editor. This is useful for important updates like hackathon countdowns or maintenance notices.

Workspace admins and owners need this when they want to share a single, important message with everyone in their workspace.

Do this, in order

  1. 1

Go to 'Workspace settings' and then 'Announcements'.

This is where you create and manage your workspace's announcement banner.

  2. 2

Type your message into the 'Banner text' box.

This is the content that will be displayed to all members. You can use formatting tools for bold, italic, underline, links, or add a countdown timer.

  3. 3

Choose a background color and a text color for your banner.

This sets the visual appearance of your announcement to match your needs or branding.

  4. 4

Decide if members can close the banner by enabling or disabling 'Banner dismissal'.

If enabled, members can hide the banner from their view. If disabled, it stays visible until you turn it off.

  5. 5

Turn on the 'Enabled' switch and click 'Update'.

This makes your announcement banner live and visible to everyone in the workspace immediately.

Paste this into your project

Hey Lovable, I need to set up an announcement banner for our workspace. Please go to 'Workspace settings' -> 'Announcements'. I want the banner text to be: "Important: Our annual hackathon starts in [Insert countdown to your chosen date and time here]! Get ready to build amazing things. Check out the rules here: [https://your-hackathon-rules.com]". Please use a bright blue background color and white text. Also, make sure members can dismiss the banner. Finally, enable the banner and update it so everyone can see it.

Where people get stuck

  • You can only have one announcement banner per workspace.
  • The banner text is limited to one paragraph of up to 2,000 characters and cannot include line breaks, lists, or images.
  • Banners do not have a start or end date; you must manually enable and disable them.
  • A countdown timer reaching zero does not automatically hide the banner.
  • You cannot see which members have dismissed the banner.
  • The announcement banner does not appear in the Lovable mobile app.
