Manage workspace members from the People tab

about 5 minBuildingchecked 2h agoOfficial page
The short version

The People tab is where you manage everyone in your Lovable workspace, including inviting new members, changing their roles, and setting individual spending limits. It helps you keep track of who has access and how they're using your workspace's resources.

Anyone who manages a Lovable workspace needs this to control who can access their projects and what they can do.

Do this, in order

  1. 1

Go to 'Settings' and then select 'People'.

This is the central place to see and manage all members and pending invitations in your workspace.

  2. 2

To add someone, click 'Invite members', enter their email, choose their role (like Editor or Viewer), and click 'Invite'.

This sends an email invitation that allows them to join your workspace with the specified permissions.

  3. 3

To change someone's role, find their name in the list, click the dropdown next to their current role, and select a new one.

This immediately updates their permissions within the workspace, giving them more or less access as needed.

  4. 4

To set a monthly spending limit for a member, click the three dots next to their name, then 'Set credit limit', and enter the amount.

This helps control how many 'build credits' an individual member can use each month, preventing unexpected costs.

  5. 5

To remove someone, click the three dots next to their name and select 'Remove'.

This immediately revokes all their access to your workspace and its projects.

Paste this into your project

I need to manage my workspace members. Can you help me invite a new editor named Jane Doe with email jane.doe@example.com, change John Smith's role to Viewer, and set a monthly credit limit of 500 for Alice Brown?

Words decoded

Workspace
Your main area in Lovable where you keep all your projects, team members, and settings organized.
Build credits
The currency used in Lovable for creating and developing projects. Think of them as tokens you spend when you're actively building something.
Role
The level of access and permissions a person has in your workspace or on a specific project (e.g., Owner, Admin, Editor, Viewer, Collaborator).
SSO
Stands for Single Sign-On. It's a way for users to log in to multiple applications (like Lovable) using just one set of credentials, often managed by their company.
SCIM
Stands for System for Cross-domain Identity Management. It's a standard that helps automatically manage user accounts and groups across different systems, like Lovable and your company's identity provider.
External collaborator
Someone from outside your core team (like a freelancer or client) who needs access to specific projects but not the entire workspace.

Where people get stuck

  • Inviting someone to a project who isn't already a workspace member will automatically add them as an 'external collaborator', which might not be what you intended if you wanted them as a full member.
  • Be careful when removing members, as this action cannot be undone and any projects they owned will be automatically transferred to another senior member.
  • If you want a specific person to inherit projects from a departing member, you must manually transfer project ownership *before* removing the member.
  • Email invitations expire after 30 days, so if someone hasn't joined by then, you'll need to send a new invite.
  • Invite links expire after 5 days and creating a new link replaces any previous one for that role, so ensure people use the link quickly.
