Manage training data and privacy
Lovable may use your project content to improve its AI models, but you can stop this. This guide shows you how to prevent your data from being used for AI training.
Anyone using Lovable's Free or Pro plans who wants to control how their project data is used for AI model training.
Do this, in order
- 1
Go to your Lovable Account settings.
This is where you manage your personal preferences and data usage options.
- 2
Navigate to 'Preferences' and then 'AI model training'.
This specific section contains the setting for controlling AI model training data.
- 3
Find the toggle labeled 'Use my Lovable content for model training' and turn it off (disable it).
Disabling this toggle prevents Lovable from using your future project content to train its AI models.
Paste this into your project
Please go to Account settings > Preferences > AI model training and disable 'Use my Lovable content for model training'. This will stop Lovable from using my project content to improve its AI models.
Words decoded
- Customer data
- This refers to all the content you create or submit within Lovable, like your prompts, code, project files, and the results the AI generates for you. It does not include information from your app's users or your billing details.
- AI model training
- This is the process where artificial intelligence systems learn from examples to get better at their tasks. When your data is used for training, it helps Lovable's AI become smarter and more accurate for everyone.
- Opt out
- This means choosing not to participate in something. In this case, it means choosing to prevent your data from being used for AI model training.
- Pseudonymized identifiers
- These are pieces of information that can identify you, but have been changed or replaced with a fake name or code so that you can't be directly linked to them without extra information. It's like a nickname that only a few people know how to connect back to your real name.
- De-identified data
- This is information that has been stripped of all details that could possibly identify you. It's like taking a survey response and removing your name, address, and any unique answers that could point back to you, making it anonymous.
Where people get stuck
- Opting out only stops future data from being used; it does not remove data that was already used to train models before you opted out.
- If you are on a Business or Enterprise plan, your data is already excluded by default, so you won't need to change this setting.
- The setting only applies to your own contributions; other members in a shared project must opt out individually if they wish to.
