List project collaborators
This endpoint retrieves a list of people directly invited to work on a specific project, along with their permission levels. It only includes explicit, individual project invites and leaves out people whose access comes from workspace roles, teams, or folders.
Workspace admins or developers on a Business plan or higher who need to audit or display who has direct access to a specific project.
Do this, in order
- 1
Generate an API key with the projects:read scope from your Lovable account settings.
Requests to read project data will be rejected if the key lacks this specific permission.
- 2
Send a GET request to https://api.lovable.dev/v1/projects/{project_id}/collaborators including your project ID in the path and your API key in the headers.
This fetches the list of users who have been directly invited to this specific project.
- 3
Read the returned list for each collaborator's user ID and access level, and use next_cursor to fetch additional pages if pagination indicates more results exist.
The API returns collaborators in batches of up to 100, so you must page through to see all members.
Paste this into your project
Create an admin section in my app that fetches and displays direct project collaborators using the Lovable API. Add an integration for the GET /v1/projects/{project_id}/collaborators endpoint using a secure Lovable API key from environment variables. Show each collaborator's user ID and access level in a clean table, handle pagination seamlessly if there are multiple pages, and display helpful empty and error states.Words decoded
- Scope
- A specific permission attached to an API key that defines what information it is allowed to view or change.
- Cursor
- A unique marker returned by an API that tells it where to start fetching the next batch of results.
- External collaborator
- A user granted access only to specific projects rather than the entire workspace.
Where people get stuck
- Users who have access through workspace roles, folders, or groups will not appear on this list.
- Pending invites sent to email addresses that do not yet have a Lovable account are excluded from the results.
- The project owner does not appear in this list unless they were explicitly granted direct collaborator access.
- Newly added collaborators might not appear instantly due to eventual consistency, so allow a short delay before retrying.
The short version, steps, decoder and prompt on this page are written automatically from Lovable's own documentation and can lag or misread it. The official page is always the authority.
